Pickup, Delivery and Dining: How It Works
Know the three service options before you order.
Every home kitchen chooses which of the three to offer. The listing tells you which. Delivery works differently from restaurant delivery.
Pickup
The most common option. You order ahead and collect the food at the cook’s home at the agreed time. Listings show the city and ZIP; you get the street address when you place a pickup order. Follow the cook’s parking and pickup instructions.
Eating at the cook’s home
Some cooks welcome you to eat at their table. Not all do. If offered, you are visiting a private residence that is also a permitted food business: arrive during the agreed time, stay in the areas set aside for customers, and be considerate of neighbors.
Delivery
Some cooks deliver. When they do, the cook or their own employee brings the food to you in person.
Before you leave or wait for delivery
Confirm the order, the time, and the instructions.
Know how to reach the cook if plans change.
Follow any storage or reheating instructions the cook gives you. Everything was cooked today; treat it like restaurant takeout.
Check the listing, follow the cook’s instructions, and don’t assume an app can deliver it.
