Meet the People Behind the Food

What a cook’s profile shows — and what it keeps private.

The cook’s story is part of what makes home-cooked food different. Cooks share as much or as little as they choose.

More than a menu

A home kitchen is a one-person business. The story you read is usually written by the person who will cook your food and hand it to you. When a cook claims their listing they can tell you where their food comes from, why they started, and what they are proudest of.

What a claimed profile shows

  • The cook’s story and photos, in their own words.

  • Cuisine or food style, and the current menu.

  • Service days and options: pickup, dining at the home, delivery.

  • How to order and how to contact the cook.

  • County inspection information, shown separately so you can tell what comes from the County and what comes from the cook.

Cooks speak for themselves

We never guess a cook’s culture, background, or training from a name, a photo, or a cuisine label. A cook may call themselves a home cook, a chef, a business owner, or something else. The profile uses their words.

Privacy comes first

These businesses run from private homes. Listings show city and ZIP only; the street address is shared when you place a pickup order. We do not ask cooks for personal details customers do not need, and we do not display them.

A story, a menu, a way to order — and nothing about the cook that isn’t theirs to share.

Official sources
